Don, Jesus commanded His apostles, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost" Mt 28:19 You have acknowledged that the apostles baptized "for the remission of sins" so teh command teh Lord gave was to go and baptize for the remission of sins. The next verse says, "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Mt 28:20 (KJV)
If they taught people to observe what Jesus commanded them, then they taught people to "go and baptize people for the remission of sins."
But Don willyou even accept this since you are the one who stated "Peter was a liar?"
Mark 9:38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. 39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. 40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
Most people use these verses to try and explain how denominations are acceptable with God. I usually hear this when people think that we should not point out error of the denominations. After all, just because they "do not follow us" does not mean that God does not accept them. However this is certainly not what this verse teaches. Notice, the disciples complained that these they saw were not following them. Jesus points out that the key is they are approved of by God because they are doing what only could be done with God's approval (cf Ac 2:22 - Jesus was approved of God by the miracles He did) We can know if someone is "with God" by noticing what they are doing. If what they are doing is contrary to what God says, it does not matter if we know them or not, the Bible is the standard by which we judge their fruits (Matt 7:16). If they do not follow the Word, they are not for Jesus.
