A Word From The Lord
with James Oldfield

"Is there any word from the Lord? And Jeremiah said, There is" (Jeremiah 37:17)

A Word From The Lord is a live call-in Bible program sponsored by the church of Christ. It allows the viewing audience to interact in the Bible study.

Questions are welcome and denominational preachers are invited by appointment to come and give a defense for their beliefs.

Scared Day Adventists
On January 3rd, DR. Andre L. Saunders from the Ross St Seventh day Adventist Church in Danville called in and took issue with what I had said about their prophetess Ellen G. White. He said he would come on TV and discuss the matter in front of our audience.

We were set for Jan 17th, but Andre wanted to reschedule because of weather.
We rescheduled for the 24th but Andre back out. We debated with out him.

He has offered to meet privately or at one of their services. We are still waiting to see if that was just talk like the previous agreements.

Where Did God Put YOU?!
We hear about the "unchurched." Those persons who may profess to be Christians but do not attend anywhere regularly.
In this lesson, we examine should a person "be in a church" and if so which church would God "put you in." We use some answers from "Ask The Pastor." A VERY good call comes in at the end to demonstrate the attitude so many people have about the church. WATCH!

Inquire of The Lord
There is a popular show in this area called "Ask The Pastor." A panel of local pastors are assembled and the audience can ask them questions (Yes, they take live calls but you can only ask one question. No follow up questions. One sided dialog. What is the point?)
We review some the "pastors" answers and then let the community determine which is the wisest thing to do: "Ask The Pastor" or Inquire about A Word From The Lord? Watch Here!

The X Factor
The X factor is a variable or element in an equation that makes the difference or gives and advantage. When people say that baptism has no part in man's salvation, it is taking the X factor out of salvation. The X factor is not the water. The X factor is God. The Bible says God works (operates) in baptism (Col 2:11-12). To say that baptism is not important is to take the one "factor" that can remove sins (God) out of the equation. Interesting call towards the end. Watch Here!

The Circus of Denominationalism
When denominations they are all part of the body of Christ, they do not know what they are saying. They are making the body of Christ look like a freak show, by making Christ the head and all the denominations the bodies.
We demonstrate that the "bodies" of denominations are all different, not like the unified like the members of a body. Not only do denominations make Christ have one head and different bodies, all the bodies are different ages! Can you imagine having a body that has a 80 year old head, a 30 year old leg, a 10 year old arm and a 5 year old knee? Well, if denominations make up the body of Christ, why is it they are different ages? Would the body not be as old as the head?
Callers respond, including the usual "You should not condemn others" but this time, the caller admits she is condemning us!

Who's Your Daddy?
All denominations were started by a man. You can trace them back to a man's vision or revelation, but NOT the Bible. We review JC Richardson Church and show where it came from.
This is a WDTBS program from back in February when James filled in for Johnny or Jason.
